FRC currently train together twice a week. We meet at 18:50 at Everyone Active Fareham Leisure Centre for a 19:00 start.
Meeting Place
We meet outside the main entrance doors to the Leisure Centre. Please help us keep a clear pathway for those people looking to go to and from the building.
Please don’t forget to wear brightly coloured clothing, especially hi-viz during the winter months, for safety.
Tuesday Sessions: 19:00 – 20:15
This is our BIG training night, with sometimes up to 100 runners taking part.
It’s fully open to a range of abilities. We cater for everyone and a majority of paces, from people who run 7 mins per mile or quicker, to those who run steadier than 11 mins per mile.
We have over two dozen qualified run leaders with sessions varying from week to week, with speedwork, hill work, and tempo runs all available to choose from.
In order to join the majority of these sessions we ask that you can already run a 5K within 40 minutes. If you’re currently steadier than this, you’re still welcome to our monthly New Starters Nights and a variety of other sessions that can safely accommodate your pace – more details can be found in our members only Facebook Group. Can’t run 5k yet? Have a look at our C25K programme which is run 1-2 times a year.
Thursday Sessions: 19:00 – 20:00
This is our weekly less structured training session, aimed at the more seasoned runner who can run continuously for an hour.
Thursday night runs can be more social, with groups tending to be large & communal. We have 3-4 different pace groups with the aim being to improve your speed endurance. To join us we ask that you can run 5 miles or more comfortably within an hour, and for your safety, we always loop back at regular intervals to ensure that nobody is ever left behind.
You will normally be able to find out details of the groups in advance in our member-only Facebook Group.
